FALL “GATHERING OF AUTHORS” CHARITY EVENT & BOOK SIGNING
TEXARKANA, AR, OCTOBER 23rd, 2 – 8 pm – Celebrating literacy and helping children who face deadly disease at St. Judes, this event is unique in many ways. Promoting regional talent, helping them to reach out to readers in our area and beyond, is only one goal of this Gathering.
30 authors will participate. Come and meet the authors, get autographed books. The gathering invites kids who have an interest in writing to keep chasing their dreams. There will be a “Kid’s Corner,” where we will read stories from 2 – 6 pm on the day of the event. There will be several contests, including an elementary short story contest for first, second and third place awards. A manuscript contest for all will be judged by long time editor and agent D.J Resnick and his team of editors in Beaumont TX.
Dozens of donated prizes will be raffled. All proceeds go straight to the charity.
Keynote speaker is Kathy Patrick from Beauty and the Book, Hairdresser to the Authors,
Founder of The Pulpwood Queens and Timber Guys Book Clubs, and author of The Pulpwood Queens’ Tiara Wearing, Book Sharing Guide to Life.
The Gathering will be a day to remember, promoting literacy and reaching out a helping hand to children who are fighting for their life.
